USSH signed cooperation agreements with Asian Development Fund, Korea (ADF)

On 6 June 2018, President of USSH met and signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ADF, Korea. In the near future, the Fund promises to sponsor scholarship grants for USSH students.

On behalf of ADF, Korea, Mr. Kim Joon Il – President and Mr. Choi Man Chil – Vice President attended the signing ceremony. Besides ADF representatives, Ms. Choi Hye Yong – Vice President of Cobi Group – also appeared at the partnership ceremony.

 

On behalf of USSH, Doctor, Associate Professor, Vice President of USSH, Ms. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan together with Head of International Cooperation and International Project Development Division, M.A. Nguyen Thu Huong and Doctor Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai, Dean of Korean Studies Department jointly welcomed and worked with representatives from ADF, Korea.

 

After discussion and conversation between 2 partners, ADF decides to sponsor many financial aids for USSH students in the school year of 2018 – 2019. Details on available slots, award requirements and eligible participants to the financial aid programs will be announced later by Department of Student Affairs of USSH.

 

During the meeting, Doctor, Associate Professor Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, students from USSH come from different provinces throughout Vietnam; thus many students are confronted with financial difficulties while pursuing their education at USSH. As a result, financial support from ADF Fund encourage these unpriviledged students to overcome financial challenges and continue with their studying.

 

USSH President suggested that students who receive financial support from ADF must report their study results as well as their social work achievements after a specific period to the Fund. This helps ADF to keep track of scholarship recipients’ academic and social work achievements.

 

On the other hand, Doctor, Associate Professor Ngo Thi Phuong Lan introduced the graduate programs at USSH and suggests that ADF Fund could send their employees to join these programs at USSH.

 

Mr. Kim Joon Il, during his conversation with USSH, disclosed that he always valued “the close partnership” between ADF and USSH and hopes to send the Fund’s employees to study at USSH’s graduate programs.

 

He also revealed that apart from financial adis for needy students at USSH, ADF Fund plans to support children from korean – Vietnamese family who want to further their tertiary education at Vietnam. He hopes these students will become future talents through their education and act as diplomatic bridge between the two countries.
