USSH Leaders welcomed University of Georgia, US.

On January 12th 2015,  Mr. Le Huu Phuoc, Dr., Vice President of University of Social Sciences and Humanities VNU HCMC, and Mr. Bang Anh Tuan, MA., Head of the Office of International Cooperation and Project Development had a formal meeting with the delegation from the University of Georgia including Professor Noel Fallows – Associate Dean of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and Dr. Hyangsoon Yi, Director of the Center for Asian Studies in order that full and increased cooperations in academic programmes could be strongly promoted.

To begin with, Mr. Le Huu Phuoc, Dr., presented his warm greetings to the delegation of University of Georgia, and gave a brief overview of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and short introduction of the USSH's Faculty of Vietnamese studies. To give specific information, Mr. Bang Anh Tuan, MA., the Head of the USSH's Office of International Cooperation and Project Development, summarized international cooperation programs with USSH’s partners with a primary focus on remarkable achievements with American partners and suggested cooperative possibilities as well as academic great opportunities between the two educational institutions.  Appreciating the warm welcome given by USSH highly, Prof. Noel Fallows gave a brief introduction of the University of Georgia and the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the Center for Asian Studies as well. He also fully expressed his deep appreciation for the greater and increased cooperations of the two universities by taking the first step of having an MOU signed as the legal basis for the development of international cooperation activities.


Regarding the specific cooperation programmes, the University of Georgia is willing to co-organize with USSH 1) short-term programmes for students of the University of Georgia to study and learn about Vietnam and Vietnamese language 2) internship programmes in Vietnam for students from the University of Georgia. Furthermore, the two partners also extensively and openly discussed the scholarship supports for Vietnamese students conduct further research and obtain decent education at the University of Georgia. Dr. Le Huu Phuoc expressed his great appreciation and welcomed the students of the University of Georgia to study at the faculty of Vietnamese studies of USSH and confirmed that USSH would highly stimulate favorable learning and research conditions for University of Georgia’s students.
