Coming to the Going Global 2019,   Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan is very interested in a new concept called "Knowledge Diplomacy". This is considered a new approach to understanding about IHERI (The relationship between international higher education, research and innovations with national relations). Besides, "Knowledge Diplomacy" is a comprehensive concept including scientific diplomacy. It is also not soft power. Indeed, "Knowledge Diplomacy" differs from soft power in terms of motivation, strategy, value and benefits. Unlike educational diplomacy, "Knowledge Diplomacy" includes research and application of research and new knowledge to innovate. While educational diplomacy is toward human development, "Knowledge Diplomacy" focuses on identifying and solving social issues in all parts of the world. Therefore, according to Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, "Knowledge Diplomacy" is a new trend on the world that Vietnam needs to focus on in the future in higher education.
