Enhance Project launches online training tool to facilitate researchers

The online training tool was launched and instructed to use at ENHANCE Final Conference on 19 and 20th September, at University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University in HCMC.

European representatives include Dr. Manuel Palomar, President, Alicante University (Spain), Dr. Roberto Escarré – Head of International Project Management Department (Alicante University), Ms. Olga Bloshchinska – Project Coordinator (Alicante University).


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, President, HCM-USSH delivered the Opening Speech in which she expressed her words of thank you to all participants and sponsors. On the other hand, the President emphasized ENHANCE Project is an opportunity for European parties to foster their understanding of Vietnam educational systems, laying foundations for further cooperative projects to be initiated.


Dr. Roberto Escarré shared that the mission of Final Conference is to bring together managers, academics and researchers from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Research Institutes, relevant stakeholders, and representatives from private sectors to discuss challenges and strengths of R&I management and implementation in Vietnam.

Online training tools for researchers

Rose Cawood, Project Manager (Glasgow Caledonian University), representative of the project introduced and illustrated how to use the learning tool. Ms. Cawood informed that the tool is complimentary to facilitate researchers and management entities in monitoring and binding research results effectively with core units, particularly private sectors, at national, regional and international levels.


The tool is structured into 7 learning modules: (1) Introducing metrics for researchers, (2) Academic Impact, (3) Assessment Procedures for Business opportunities Warwick – COAP, (4) Research Partnership, (5) MOU, (6) Cooperative Stratefies, (7) Research Management Tool.

In concluding remark, Dr. Phan Thanh Dinh, Vice President of USSH, valued cooperative efforts among project members throughout project cycle. Dr. Phan Thanh Dinh expected that more similar partnership program between European and Vietnamese universities could be executed in the future.



ENHANCE PROJECT (strEngthening National researcH And iNnovation Capacities in viEtnam) is an initiative sponsored by Erasmus Plus Foundation, European Commission. Alicant University (Spain), Glasgow Caledonian (Scotland) and Slovak Technology University (Slovakia) are leading coordinators of the program.

ENHANCE operates at a macro level targeting the Vietnamese Higher Education system (Research & Innovation Management and Implementation). The project is in line with national priorities that give a predominant role to Research & Innovation in the mid/long term and its activities have been designed as a response to Vietnam real needs.

With the participation of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Science and Technology the project has been ongoing from 2016-2018 and implemented at 6 Vietnam universities: Thai Nguyen University, University of Social Sciences & Humanities (Vietnam National University – HCMC), Agricultural University (Hue City), University of Natural Sciences (Vietnam National University – HCMC), An Giang University and Can Tho University.
